Old Town San Diego

Old Town

This place is called the "Birthplace of California"
It is a nice place to go. It is "FREE", so it won't cost you a dime. It has a lot of free little museums of historic San Diego. It is pretty interesting and there are a lot of little shops, restaurants, and sightseeing. It is located right along the I-5 and it is a good place to stop by if you are ever in the area.

Isn't San Diego beautiful? I lived in Oceanside for about 6 months, though I'm back in LA now.
I know what you mean about the "friendliness" of Californians vs. people from other states. I was born in Texas and still have a lot of family there, but I grew up in Colorado which is more reserved than Texas but more small town than California.
I did the same as you when I first moved to LA. I said 'hello' to everyone I passed on the street. They looked at me like I was crazy or something! Soon I realized there's too many people to greet everyone. The society wouldn't be able to get anything done.
