Hiroshima Peace Park

Before
After the Nuclear Bomb

Is it true that what goes around comes around?

What I found a bit interesting about the museum was learning that the regiment from Hiroshima was also the regiment who attacked parts of China and participated in the "Rape of Nanking".

Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Casualties = 140,000 estimated deaths
Rape of Nanking (Nanking Massacre)= 300,000 estimated deaths

The atomic bomb saved many lives and helped the Japanese make their decision to surrender, avoiding a massive "D-day" type of invasion on the Japanese mainland from the Americans, Russians and Chinese.

Bullet Train

Why doesn't the U.S. have a reliable railway system? It would be so convenient for everyone if there was a great train system. It is somewhat slower than air, but it doesn't require burning the Earth's precious fossil fuels.

Tomorrow, I take off to southern Japan via bullet train. I'm really excited. I plan on visiting Hiroshima's Peace Park and Nuclear Bomb Museum. I think it will be somewhat different from Nagasaki's Nuclear Bomb Museum. Different images, different stories. I'll post pictures when I get there.
