Furniture Shopping in HOMES

In Japan, there is a neat store called HOMES. It is like a home depot and an IKEA store combined. Real interesting. Me and Soco went around looking at furniture and see that some of the Japanese furniture is innovative while some look completely ridiculious. There are all kinds of furniture that fold and transform to maximize the usage of space in your home, while others hurt your eyes with the distasteful color of fabric. I was intrigued that the bed sizes are different from the US. They use bed sizes called, "Small, Medium, Double and Wide Double" They are a few centimeters different from the US specs: "Twin, Full, Queen and King". Soco seems to be having a fun time although being immersed in another country. I've been showing her around and I got her a cool Mexican looking chromed-out bike.

Picking up Wife at AMC Terminal

Yesterday really didn't go as planned for my wife's arrival. She flew out of Los Angeles to Yokota AFB via "Mac Flight". Those are known to be unreliable sources of transportation. Me and Chief drove out 3 hours to Yokota AFB. I had an iteneary that said that she would arrive at 1140. When I got to Yokota AMC Terminal, the lady at the front desk told me that they had already arrived. I asked, "What???" Yeah, they had arrived at 0600 in the morning. So she had already taken the bus to Yokosuka. Oh how frustrating! When I got to Yokosuka, my wife was there all pissed off. Well, it isn't my fault. Did I mention that they shipped her luggage to Okinawa?

Streaming Audio from the Internet vs Japanese Radio

Now, being stationed in Japan, I'm pretty much forced to listen to whatever the Japanese play on their radio stations. I haven't been lucky enough to find any American type of music although American music is popular and sold throughout Japan. The radio stations around Yokosuka play boring talk shows which I can't understand. So I spent the day trying to find good radio stations I can stream from the internet. With my blazing fast ADSL(aka DSL) internet connection @ 40 bps, I'm pretty happy streaming music and surfing and downloading all at the same time. I have resorted to listening to KIIS FM 102.7 which features all the latest top 40 songs.

Vacation in the U.S. traveling back in time

My vacation back to the United States was a blast! Whoever said that time travel wasn't possible, must've been mistaken. I had to relive Saturday, January 29 twice. I left Tokyo at 1455 and arrived in California at 0830 Saturday. It was a bit strange, but I got over it quick once I took a shower after the 10 hour flight. I'm pretty tired right now. I just got back from the US. I'll tell more of my adventures and upload pictures once I get some rest...
