Cravings for Coco's Curry

Bouncy Castle

I'm pretty relieved to say that I finally sold my van. Since the Japanese Compulsary Insurance (JCI) and inspections expires within a year from now, I had to mark down the price to $1,800. Good deal for the buyer.

Ramen Museum @ Shin-Yokohama

Pooh Bear at the Disney Store in Lazona Plaza Mall in Kawasaki
One of the amazing Ramen bowls at the Ramen Museum

This one wasn't spicy. It was good and the broth tasted mostly like pork and bamboo. It was good. Soco's ramen dish was very spicy and her's cost 1200 yen, a hundred yen more than mine. The old saying is true, you get what you pay for. Her's was better. From what the other guys were telling me, it was mediocre. I asked them this one simple question.... how much did you pay? "Oh about 750 yen." In my mind: "Of course it was mediocre, you cheap-skate! C-mon, you can't expect to go to the RAMEN MUSEUM and get a top-notch dish for less than seven bucks." Anyways, they all liked it and want to go back to try out the different ramen.

Yummy! Ramen!!!

I don't know if I said it before, but Ramen originally came from China. It migrated to Japan and the Japanese perfected it to their individual tastes per prefecture (state).

BMETs and their families at the Ramen Museum

I decided to take the guys and their families for a fun weekend out. It would be pointless to go to Japan without experiencing Kawasaki Lazona Plaza Mall and the Ramen Museum. Everyone we take to the mall loved it. I haven't seen any mall in the world that is like this. The food court has over 60 different restaurants and bakeries to choose from. There is even a cooking class-restaurant where you can learn to bake your own cakes and exotic dishes! I estimate that there is about 7,000-12,000 people roaming the mall at any one-time during the weekend. Yes, it is pretty big. It is a pity that we are leaving so soon. Everytime we go there, we ALWAYS discover a new wing or really cool section in the mall. It is so HUGE!

This picture was taken after I put a handful hairgel in it. I tried to make her look like an ant with antennas. It didn't work out too well.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be leaving Japan in September. It was a great tour here. Our next place of duty will take us around the world 13 hours behind. Crazy. I will transfering to National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda Maryland. I've never been stationed at the East Coast before, I'm sure it will be an adventure like always.

Places to visit on the east coast:
Sesame Street
Hershey's Chocolate Factory
Disney World, Epcot Center and Disney's Animal Kingdom
Washington, DC
New York City (Again)
Maine
Hmm... What else? I'm sure I'll find lots to do.
