New Years Eve 2006

I haven't left the house in about two days. I feel like a hermit, but at the same time, I'm perfectly content with being in the safe confines of my home. I've been studying for the E-6 exam. I decided to get a head start this time, I didn't score high enough to make it last time. I missed E-6 by 6 points. If I had scored a perfect on the test I would've made it. But darn, the quotas make it impossible even since I scored a 73.35 out of a possible 80.00. Making rank is a hard thing to make these days.

Nayeli is being fussier than ever. She wakes up at 11pm, 1, 3 and 5 a.m. She usually cries until I warm up a bottle of milk and feed it to her. Soco has been working nights for the past month making me the sole-care provider next to the child development center. Nayeli rarely sees her mother these days and she clinches on to me like glue. Until recently, Nayeli seems to find a little bit more confort in Soco.

The past few days we've been eating out in various places instead of cooking at home. Bamiyan's(Chinese Cuisine) has been a popular place for us, their food is way cheaper than TGI Fridays and just as fulfilling. I also bought some take-out from the Daiei Mall and 7-11.

The End of 2006

Yeah! Food!
So Fussy!
Check out my new hair-do! Alfalfa Hair :)
We took Nayeli to the doctor for her 6 month check up. The doctor said that she was really developing and was doing fine for a baby her age. The only thing she can't do is crawl. Nayeli thinks that crawling is for babies!

Our First Christmas as a Family in 3 or 4 Years

Being a Navy couple, it is difficult to stay attached. On-going deployments, duty and schooling is inevitable. However, this year we were lucky to be stationed at the same place at the same time and both off(not at work) on Christmas. And it is also the first Christmas with Nayeli. Somehow this year, I am very sick. Strangely, the ear thermometer measures two different temps depending on which ear you stick it in. My left ear has been measuring 105.1 and my right ear has been measuring 106.3. Of course with a temperature like that, I wouldn't want to go outside in the freezing temperature!

Nayeli is getting Smart!

As Nayeli is approaching 7 months of age, she now weights 17 pounds. She now tries to grab for everything in sight. She enjoys eating baby food and cereal. She is starting to get more attached to her parents. I notice that once I drop her off at daycare, she starts crying now. She cries more than ever! Especially when we take a toy (or anything dangerous)away from her.
